Global gator guides
what is the global gator guide program?
The Global Gator Guide program is an award-winning program within Global Business Society. In order to be selected to be a Global Gator Guide, those interested must go through an application process that takes place in the semester prior to the one in which they wish to be a global gator guide.

The main focus of the program is to match a UF student, a Global Gator Guide, with an incoming exchange student to help the student transition to life on campus.

The goal of the program is to create lasting connections with international business students while they learn and grow here at the University of Florida.

Russell

I’m Russell Liao and I am a first-year accounting major from Shenzhen, China. My fun fact is I have traveled to 15 countries around the world! Being a gator guide is meaningful for me because I had experiences as an exchange student before and I know how they feel in a different environment. I want to help them adapt to new lives better. Also, it is just a great way to meet new friends!

Mia

Hi everyone, my name is Mia Garcia. I am a senior in the school of business and this my last semester at UF. I have been a gator guide for two years and the impact this club has made on me is life changing. From never really meeting anyone from the outside of the United States, to making such good friendships with exchange students and visiting them in their home countries, this club has really made my UF experience and I am so grateful for that.

"Hi! My name is Carly Rutigliano, and I am a second-year Marketing major here at UF. After traveling to Brazil, I knew I wanted to join a club that allowed me to interact with other cultures and make lasting friendships!  This was my first year as a Gator Guide, and I am forever grateful for the relationships I made and for my exchange student! GBS is an amazing part of my time as a Gator and I cannot recommend it enough!"
